The Write Connect Challenge

Although <3 Write, # Connect is a literacy movement, it is about more than just bringing writers together. One of the biggest problems facing the publishing industry today is the negative attitude that some writers have about reading things they are not familiar with. The goal of the <3 Write, # Connect challenge is to encourage writers and readers to step out of their comfort zone.  Whether you write literary fiction or romance novels–nonfiction books or lyrical poetry–everyone has insight that they can bring to write connect.

For Writers:

This month, step outside of your comfort zone by writing something you don’t haven’t tried before. If you are a crime writer, try writing poetry. Or if you write romance novels, try writing a mystery. Post your drafts, proofs, chapters and chapbooks to your blog, then hashtag a link so everyone can take a look.

For Readers

This month, instead of picking up a by your favorite author, try reading something in genre you don’t normally buy or from an author you haven’t heard of. Read the book and write a review for your blog. Tell us about your experience. Then hashtag a link and let the world see it.

For Everyone

Remember, <3 Write # Connect, is ultimately about connecting. Use the hashtag to make friends, build a bigger blog audience, connect with your favorite writers, and engage in discussion.  The more posts you write and the more links you spread, the more everyone benefits.
